DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I have used Quicken for well over a decade, and it seems every new edition is worse than the previous. Q2008 is no exception.
Recently, I was forced to update from Q2005 to Q2008 when Intuit informed me that they would no longer support my version. Frankly I didn't care if they stopped offering customer support, but the fact that they stopped your ability to connect with your bank online is ridiculous. I can't say that I was entirely happy with Q2005, and always felt it was a step backwards from the previous edition. However, I got by. After installing Q2008, it makes me wonder how Intuit stays in business. This is not only a step backward, but the quality of Q2008 is laughable. (Read some of the other reviews for specific details.) Although it doesn't seem to crash as often as Q2005 on Vista, the errors in calculations, graphing, reports, etc are disturbing. Intuit if you are reading this, you should be ashamed, and customers should have some recourse for Intuit basically stealing our money with faulty software.

I'm just here to whine about the fact that I was perfectly happy with Quicken 2005 and then I get an announcement one day that they're stopping my online support (being able to download my bank data etc.) and I had to upgrade. So I get to spend money to get a program I don't need. Nice.
So far I've had no glitches, it's basically the same stuff with new fonts and garbage like that. I don't use any of the extras, and most of you won't either.

Be prepared to have Intuit, the maker of Quicken, turn off features that you may have liked or needed. Just over 2 years after buying the 2005 version, they are now threatening that all online and download features will be stop working as of the end of April 2008. There is no technical reason that the 2005 program should have to stop downloading directly from banks the way it has for years. This is just example of Intuit engaging in predatory marketing.

I have found Quicken 2008 to be one of the sleaziest software packages I have ever had the misfortune to install. During the installation process Quicken installed an application for: a credit card, automatic bill paying, and credit report on my desktop without asking for permission. I strongly recommend people avoid this type of software. I am not sure if I want to trust it with my bank account numbers.

I have used Quicken since the mid 1990s, and this is the last version I will ever buy.
I manage a large investment portfolio for myself in Quicken and the servers that Intuit runs for delivering stock and mutual fund pricing have had intertmittent problems for the last year, and are currently down and have been down for 3 days with no work around other than entering proces by hand and no estimated recovery time frame.
THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!
