Amazingly light, the Toshiba Portégé A605 measures just 1.2 inches thick and weighs only 3.2 pounds, making it a great companion on business trips. It's outfitted with a fingerprint reader for added security, as well as a 1.3-megapixel Webcam integrated into the display bezel for easy video conferencing. The dual-layer DVD±RW drive also burns CDs and offers LabelFlash print functionality.
It's powered by the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor--with Centrino 2 technology--which boosts speed, reduces power requirements, and saves on battery life. The 1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 includes a fast 800 MHz front-side bus and 2 MB of L2 cache, providing an optimized, multithreaded architecture for improved multimedia and multitasking performance. I wanted to like this laptop, small, lightweight, pretty fast for the specs, amazing battery life, but unfortunately Toshiba doesn't know anything about their own products and Amazon just copies that information blindly. Both on Toshiba's website and amazon.com it says: "This notebook also features an integrated audio card and two stereo speakers."
This is false, this laptop has 1 mono speaker in the upper left corner and at max volume you could barely hear it. When I contacted Amazon.com ... Read More
