We bought this to accomodate our cat during a one week absence. The original item jammed every time it cycled and no amount of resetting or adjusting fixed it. We called the manufacturer and they sent us a new more powerful motor with assurances that the problem would be solved. There were some other modifications that were aimed at allowing the moving parts to work more efficiently. Unfortunately, none of this worked much better than the original motor/design. This product's demostration video makes this scooper the ideal solution to all our problems....IT'S NOT...Here is the list of my complaints.
1. The lid wouldn't fit the container correctly.
2. The capacity of the litter recepticle doesn't hold much, had to empty every day
3. If it doesn't scoop correctly it accumulated in box and next time it runs, it pushes it out of the box, unto the floor...YUK!!
4. The non stick litter spray doesn't work AT ALL!

I am unable to bend over because of hip replacement surgery so I thought this purchase would be a good idea and save one of my children a daily trip to clean the litter box for my one small cat. I have had it 3 days and it constantly either is stuck on a clump; does not pick up anything near the edge of the box or requires some type of adjustment. Three times I have found the motor running and it will not complete the cycle because it is stuck. I would return it but I don't have the box it came in. ... Read More

This is my first auto cat box. I'm sorry to say the lid that covers the waste bin won't stay on. The rake doesn't have enough tines so it leaves little piece of litter. The slot for the rake that is next to the motor flipped upside down so I had to manually fix it, and it was a chore. The non stick spray doesn't work. It gets stuck at the end of the box and moves back to the other side, the red light goes on, so I have to fix it again.

I purchased this self scooper litter box after a littermaid stopped working. The first test run I did was a failure. It missed the litter completely. I called the customer service number and although they didn't answer, called me back in a short while. After describing the problem, they asked me to count the tines on the rake.
