Amazon.com Product Description: Illuminating a blood trail is important when tracking wounded game through thick woods and underbrush. For a long time now experienced hunters have known that a combination of red and white or red and blue lighting would help to illuminate a blood trail. The Gerber Carnivore Blood Tracking Light incorporates a bright Xenon light to follow a blood trail in low light conditions and can be easily switched with one hand for night tracking by utilizing the Carnivore’s four red and four blue LED bulbs. The sturdy plastic casing will withstand the rough conditions of backwoods tracking and comes with a lanyard attachment, a handy nylon sheath, a built-in battery indicator and instructions. Uses 4 AA batteries. --C. Dwight Barnett
Amazon.com Product Review: Trudging through dense brush while trying sometimes in vain to follow a blood trail in the dark is not what hunting is all about. But if your wounded game wandered through the woods, you haven't had a choice-till now.

Disgusting. Inhuman. Sick. Sick. Sick.
Came across this by accident.
The product should be removed from Amazon and all of the inventory smashed.

This light works exactly like it should. The technology is amazing and really works well. I like the fact that you can go back and forth from regular incandescent light to the blood tracking light quickly and easily with one hand. I use it in combination with he headlamp and get great results.
I makes tracking really easy.

When Gerber first released this light it was way overpriced as the durable quality is questionable e.g. water resistant and made of light breakable plastic. I don't know how well this would hold in the field being in rain and thrown in the bottom of your pack that possibly could crush the light. The scientifically combined led blue and red lights offer great blood tracking and I like the option of the ... Read More

If you need to track blood you are a lame shot and should not "hunt." Head to the grocery store.

i tryed this out on ketchup in the yard in the dark and it seems to bring out the red color as far as blood inthe woods id guess that it will work the same. hopefully i see all my deer drop but ill have it if i need it.
even if it works a little its better than losing a deer to a lost blood trail
