I have been looking for a tripod for quite some time. I went to the store to see the real thing, but was disappointed at how small the cheap ones are (and of course, the bigger ones are very expensive). Then I found this one on Amazon, which I think might be a discontinued item because it's not on Sunpak web site. I'm very pleased with this product. I wasn't expecting much from a $30 tripod, but I'm happy with the 9002DX. I'm using it mostly for stargazing with my Celestron 15x70 binoculars, and it works well. I've also used it to take some nighttime pictures. The tripod is lightweight, and fairly sturdy. It seems pretty well built for the price. It is rated as 'medium duty', and I agree with that. If you need something for 'heavy-duty' work, then look at something better. For the price, it would be tough to find a better tripod. Just don't expect ... Read More

The head became very loose on this tripod after only a few weeks. I lost it and will but a different one.

great tripod, easy to use and lightweight without feeling flimsy. I used my Nikon D200 and it more than handled the weight of the camera. I did find it a bit cumbersome carrying it through the airport as it didn't lock and would suddenly open if I grabbed it a certain way.

For $30, this tripod does a great job. Spend another $100 and you can get one with more metal parts. I just use this tripod at family events and short travels. Can't really take it on outdoor hikes because of its size and weight. I shoot photos and videos with it and have had no problems with it. Overall, it's a simple, adaptable and inexpensive tripod to own.
