I don't know if I've just got the volume turned up too high or what but, despite occasionally poor production values, this is one amazing album! A much more complete view of Thin Lizzy than can be found on earlier effort Live and Dangerous, this one really offers a career overview of a band that had an amazing trip through rock n' roll history. I do not own the disk yet, it is still on my wish list. I recently seen the televised version a couple of times on VH-1 Classic it was a great experince for me. I've heard of this band before (pardon me, I was born in 1976), and they've always heard on classic rock radio, "The Boys are Back In Town", and a cover of "Don't Believe a Word" by Def Leppard, so when VH-1 Classic was announcing a couple of months back that they were televising some classic live at the BBC performances from The Police, Thin ... This disc is a must for Lizzy fans! As far as i can tell, not a single overdub.Raw,in your face, and laced with melancholy, as this is Thin Lizzy's last show with Phillip! Recorded at the Reading rock festival in 83.The final moments of this gig,you can really hear the sadness in Phils voice. I agree with the other reviewer,"A night in the life of a blues singer" oh my god! John Sykes is feeling the end of this band, and his solo will rip your friggin heart out!! Get it..

The outstanding track on this album is "the holy war" including one of Phils more outstanding riffs. this is a definate MUST have for a true Lizzy archive.
