This is by far one of the best CDs ever to come out. It's a different feel and much more heavier than previous material (which is also great as well!) I can listen to it from beginning to end and back to the beginning. Brilliant lyric writing, heavy guitar solos, very beautiful keyboard work, and rhythm work of the bass guitar and drums are superb as well. This CD had potential to lift Bon Jovi into a wonderful new direction, but unfortunately it did not. I don't know what happened to them after ... Read More

1995 was one of the best years musically and this record is realeased in that year. I don't care what anywone says These Days might be their best effort mainly because it's so consistent. There's more good songs then on 'Keep the Faith' although the singles on that album were sronger. This album contains just good songwriting, honest lyrics and great melodies. Even I thought I wouldn't get to like these ballad rockers but I like good music and that's what this is. Get this and Keep the Faith because ... Read More

For those of you who gave this record low ratings, I understand your disappointment. I myself missed the tremendous energy of "7800," "Slippery When Wet," and "New Jersey." Even my mother (who leans toward "New Jersey," "Blaze of Glory," and "Keep the Faith") said that this 7th record lacked something. But even though this record lacks the energy of "7800," "Slippery When Wet," "New Jersey," and even "Keep the Faith," it is good in its own way. Generally speaking, this is a softer and more somber record ... Read More

I know that some BJ fans are not into this album. What I don't understand is how many of those fans who love Keep The Faith don't like These Days. The albums are very similar: You got your arena rock songs in I Believe and If That's What It Takes. It's Hard Letting You Go, This Aint a Love Song and Lie To Me are gorgeous ballads no less beautiful and melodic than I Want You and Bed Of Roses. Hearts Breaking Even and Something For The Pain are a bit heavier, up-tempoed ballads (if there is such a thing) just ... Read More

It was obvious that Jon and the band were going through some emotional and religious changes through the making of this CD. I loved it! The song These Days is the real world, in a nutshell.
