I thought this book was absolutely horrible. It was written on a elementary school level, but much of the material was inappropriate for children. The information was spotty, and much of it was just silly. All in all, a waste of my money, and an even bigger waste of the few minutes of my life ill spent on reading through this so-called book.

Not a bad book, and a good DIY/"Fun with Science" textbook. I feel that the book overhypes the "Fun in the kitchen!" idea. The majority of projects in the book are more Junior High science, less "exciting projects for foodies." There's 19 chapters, and only five or so would appeal to food-lovers. Most of these are basic electronic projects that are only loosely kitchen-focused (the least interesting was "make a trivet out of intergrated circuits!") I was really hoping to love this book, but I found most of the projects to be unattainable. There weren't many projects (I'm more used to cookbooks with come packed with recipes and activities). I'd seen all the best projects elsewhere. And, to be honest, I thought there would be more interesting stuff to do with food.
I did like the writing and I will keep it on my shelf for that mythical day when I can actually do more of the projects.

I bought this book as a gift for a high school science teacher, for which many of the experiments would be great. Unfortunately, the first experiment is "Edible Undies." I would love the authors to consider a revised version.

I bought this book as a christmas present for my dad. It might be a little awkward for him to get a book from his daughter containing a recipe for edible underwear (the first recipe in the book I might add). I had intended for him to do fun things with the grandkids in the kitchen. People be warned!!!
